OpenTug Co-Founders Named to 2025 Forbes "30 Under 30" List in Transportation & Mobility

December 4, 2024 - Forbes

Profile:

OpenTug, cofounded by Michael Baldwin, Jason Aristides and Luciano de la Iglesia, is an online marketplace that allows shippers to book and track voyages on barges, with lower emissions and costs than truck transportation, and find space for their cargo in terminals and other facilities. OpenTug says in 2023 over 3 million tons of cargo was requested through the platform. The company has raised $4 million. CEO Aristides was inspired by his work as a shipping operations analyst. He saw his company regularly move empty barges past ports where capacity was needed, but shippers didn't know the vessels were available.
